Chicago apartment building collapse

CHICAGO,IL-Tones sounded at approximately 7 p.m., for a building collapse at 58th Street and Calumet Avenue, on Nov. 23.

Info into dispatch revealed the building was a Washington Park apartment building,and subjects were possibly trapped in the rubble.

Chicago Fire and Medical personnel along with Chicago PD were on scene within minutes. Officials reported that the entire building had collapsed.

Scene size-up and search and rescue operations began immediately.

Two victims were located and removed from the rubble. One patient was red and the condition of the second patient is not known at this time only that were alive. The red patient was transported to a hospital.

Additional sources have been requested,such as wreckers and the Department of water.

The search for survivors is continuing at this hour.

Fire officials have not released a cause but numerous witnesses report an explosion caused the collapse.
