Brookhaven FD Takes In An Outside Fire In Shirley.

Shirley NY- On November 14th the Brookhaven Fire Department was activated for an unknown type fire on Dawn Dr off River Rd. Captain Guiseppe L [5-3-50] was the first to come up on the air and advise fire-com he was enroute to the scene. Fire-com advised that the caller was calling from down the block and stated they saw what appeared to be smoke and flames up the road.

On arrival the Captain found an open burn that was not fully contained. He requested the first due engine 5-3-9 to pull up behind the police car and stretch the booster line to the rear. The 2nd due 5-3-2 was came up from River Rd and parked it across the street and brought the crew up to the back of the house. Firefighters quickly used the booster line to extinguish the fire. Fire Police provided assistance with blocking the road while the Engine crews operated and all units went back in service in 20 mins.
