TAYLOR COUNTY, KY - At 11:55 a.m. on November 19th, Campbellsville/Taylor County E-911 dispatched Campbellsville/Taylor County Rescue and Taylor County Fire Department to an injury accident -with reported entrapment- approximately eight miles south of Campbellsville on Kentucky HWY 55.

At 12:04 p.m. the first unit on scene reported two vehicles both upright, four patients -one possible DOA- and the other three entrapped with serious injuries. CTCRescue OIC requested mutual aid from Adair County EMS and also from AIREVAC air-medical.

Extrication of the three serious patients (black vehicle in photos) lasted 25 minutes. The 9 year-old rear seat passenger was airlifted by AIREVAC to UK medical Center in Lexington. The 12 year old passenger was also airlifted to UK and the driver was transported by ground to Taylor Regional Hospital.

The accident was investigated by Taylor County Sheriff's Department and Kentucky State Police. According to their findings, the green passenger car was traveling south on HWY 55 at a high rate of speed when it approached two slower moving vehicles and attempted to slow, but lost control, sliding sideways into the path of the black passenger car.

All persons were wearing their seat belts. The driver of the green vehicle, who was the DOA, was only 18 years of age.
