On November 18, 2025 at approximately 1427 hours, the Camden County Fire Alarm Room dropped the tones for the Collingswood Fire Department and automatic aid companies for the report of a garage fire at 1212 Grant Avenue in the West Collingswood Extension section of Haddon Township. The Collingswood Fire Department handles fire protection for that section of Haddon Twp. Camden Fire Department Rescue Company 1 was clearing from an assignment and were just a few blocks away when the officer of Rescue 1, Captain Michael Labar, noticed a lume up and directed the company to investigate since they were in the area. Rescue 1 arrived first due and reported a two bay, detached garage to be fully involved in fire. The garage was a one story, block, 15’ X 20’ structure with a lot of contents. Collingswood Squad Co 16 arrived very soon after, stretched a 1 3/4” handline and initiated the fire attack. The Camden crew assisted the Collingswood crew with hose deployment, water supply, and overhaul. The Collingswood Squad quickly knocked the bulk of the fire, but extensive overhaul was required. Crews from Pennsauken Fire Department and Westmont Fire Company assisted with suppression and overhaul tasks. The fire was placed under control in about twenty minutes by Collingswood Fire Chief Geoffrey Joyce.
