Closter, N.J. — November 6: Earlier this evening, Closter Volunteer Fire Department members took part in a multi-agency hazmat incident drill at the Veolia Water Plant in Haworth. The exercise brought together local fire departments, EMS units, the County OEM, and Veolia Emergency Response workers for a synchronized training scenario.
Crews practiced realistic hazardous scenarios, focusing on communication, hazard assessment, and cooperative operational procedures. The practice improved interagency readiness and ensured that responders are prepared for complicated emergencies involving hazardous chemicals.
