Penn Hills 227 Responds to Duplex Fire, Followed by Route 30 Crash

Penn Hills, Pa. — October 22 — Station 227 was called for mutual aid shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday on a second-alarm assignment involving two duplexes in North Braddock. Multiple departments collaborated to put the fire under control, with Engine 227 working alongside interior and exterior crews throughout the suppression efforts. After the situation was resolved, Engine 227 was discharged and reassigned to Forest Hills Station 153.
While covering the area, Engine 227 responded to a motor vehicle accident involving injuries on Route 30 in East Pittsburgh. Crews responded to provide patient care and traffic control until police and EMS arrived. Both instances were resolved without further issues, capping off a busy afternoon for Station 227 volunteers.
