Car Fires, Standbys, and Brush Fire Keep 29 Fire Active

Far Hills, N.J. — November 17 — The Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department responded to nine calls for assistance since Friday, including vehicle fires, mutual-aid standbys, and a large brush fire. The weekend started with a car fire on Interstate 287 early Friday morning. On Saturday, 29, Fire handled two standby requests from the Martinsville Fire Department as their firefighters worked on a structure fire. A second standby was requested on Sunday when Martinsville firefighters responded to a big brush fire in their region.

On Sunday evening, while 29 Fire was returning from a call, the crew was summoned to Far Hills for a report of a car on fire inside a garage. Responding units were Chief 29, Assistant Chief 29, Engine 29-1, Truck 29, Squad 29, Deputy Chief 51, Assistant Chief 51, and Engine 51-3. Crews worked together to bring the incident under control and prevent the fire from spreading into the home.
