Quarter-Acre Woods Fire Contained Quickly in Richland Section

Collings Lakes, N.J. —November 5— Stations 12-3, 12-6, and 12-1 responded at 16:18 hours to 226 Weymouth Road in the Richland portion of Buena Vista Township for a reported brush fire. Upon arrival, New Jersey Forest Fire Service unit C-9 confirmed that approximately one-quarter acre of woods was burning beside the roadway.
Squad 12-31 responded with a crew of four and assisted NJFFS resources with suppression and water supply. Engine 12-68 also contributed to the operation. Crews worked the perimeter and secured hotspots to keep the fire from spreading farther into the wooded area.
During the assignment, another call was received reporting an injured dirt bike rider. The incident was determined to be in Winslow Township, and units ensured that the information was communicated to the relevant authorities. Station 12-3 firefighters worked on Weymouth Road for roughly 45 minutes before clearing the area. There were no reported injuries among staff.
