Busy Day for Wilkins Township VFC No. 1: Fire Response Followed by Joint Training

Wilkins Township, Pa. — November 13 —On November 13th morning, Wilkins Township VFC No. 1 responded to a report of a probable basement fire. Crews discovered a lithium battery on a charger that had ignited, causing smoke in the area. Before clearing the area, firefighters secured the hazard and assured the home's safety. Departments across the region have reported similar incidents, and residents are encouraged to follow proper charging instructions when using battery-powered tools and equipment.

Later in the evening, 302 Engine and Rescue volunteers attended a forcible-entry training course hosted by Munhall Volunteer Fire Company No. 5. The practice concentrated on door control, tool positioning, and entry procedures utilized in structural fires. Wilkins Township VFC No. 1 expressed gratitude to the Munhall crews for their invitation and assistance.
