RIC 26 Responds to Nighttime Incident, Treks 3,500 Feet to Scene

West Amwell, N.J. — November 4 —The West Amwell Fire Company's Rapid Intervention Crew (RIC 26) was originally called at 8:07 p.m. Tuesday night to stand by in quarters for a working event in the area. By 8:30 p.m., the assignment had been upgraded, and RIC 26 was dispatched directly to the scene. Chief 26 (Ent) and RIC/Special Service 26, led by Battalion Siwy, reacted and were guided to the incident site via a lengthy, unlit forested driveway.
Crews moved full RIC equipment approximately 3,500 feet to reach operating companies before assisting Somerset County RIC 49 with readiness assistance. RIC 26 remained on-site until it was released by command at 11:00 p.m.
