Allentown, Pa. — November 13 — On Thursday afternoon, the Allentown Fire Department responded to a second-alarm house fire on North Jasper Street. The original assignment included Engine 6 and Truck 2 from the Ridge Avenue station. When crews arrived, they discovered that two houses had already been affected, with flames visible from the back and spreading into the top levels.
In an effort to prevent the fire from spreading further into the next residences, firefighters extended lines to both buildings. While interior workers moved lines around the impacted rooms to check for extension, truck companies opened up external walls and damaged siding to access hidden pockets of heat. To help with suppression, ventilation, and exposure protection, a second alarm was asked for.
