Allentown, Pa. — November 5 — On Wednesday night, the Allentown Fire Department responded to a second-alarm residential fire at 105–107 East Susquehanna Street. When Engine 6 and Truck 2 from the Ridge Avenue station arrived as part of the first-alarm assignment, they discovered that one of the adjacent residences' upper stories were on fire.
In order to prevent the fire from spreading through the shared attic space, truck companies uncovered the roofline and higher walls as crews advanced lines to the inside. In order to assist suppression, ventilation, and exposure protection for the interconnected structures shared by this block, a second alarm was sought. To make sure everyone was evacuated, firefighters finished primary searches.
