Jackson Township, N.J. — November 15 — Jackson Township Fire District #4 recognized the life-saving efforts of the Engine 5401 crew, Jackson EMS, and Atlantic Health paramedics after a successful cardiac arrest resuscitation earlier this year.

On January 7, at 10:51 a.m., Engine 5401 was assigned to a home in the Four Seasons at South Knolls neighborhood for an unconscious male.

Crews arrived within three minutes and discovered the patient in full cardiac arrest, with his wife, Linda, already attempting CPR. Captain Porth, Fire Official O'Brien Jr., and Firefighters McCloskey, O'Brien, Esposito, Sanchez, and Rosa immediately began performing high-quality CPR, administering numerous AED shocks while maintaining resuscitation attempts. Jackson EMS and Atlantic Health paramedics quickly joined the team, and they successfully restored spontaneous circulation before taking Jeff to CentraState Medical Center.

Recently, Jeff and Linda invited the entire response team to their home to thank them personally—an uncommon and meaningful moment in emergency services. District officials noted that Linda’s immediate CPR played a crucial role in Jeff’s survival, with the combined efforts of all responders delivering what truly amounted to a life-saving outcome.
