Early-Morning Brush Fire Contained on Hardscrabble Road

Mendham, N.J. — November 7 —The Mendham Fire Department responded to Hardscrabble Road around 4:30 a.m. for a reported wire fire, but upon arrival, they discovered an active brush fire instead. Chief 2 confirmed the situation upon arriving and asked for assistance in managing both the fire and the electrical hazard.
Firefighters collaborated with the New Jersey Forest Service and JCP&L to restore electricity and put the fire under control. Crews worked for around two and a half hours before cleaning the scene.
