Parkesburg, Pa. — November 12 — West Sadsbury Township held a Life-Saving Commendation Ceremony to recognize first responders from the Keystone Valley Fire Department, Westwood Fire Company Paramedics, and the West Sadsbury Township Police Department.

The award was given in response to a cardiac arrest incident on October 15, when Keystone Valley EMS, Westwood paramedics, and Officer McCullough collaborated to save a patient who had collapsed on West Lincoln Highway. Officer McCullough immediately began CPR, and incoming paramedics and EMS teams provided advanced life-saving care until the patient's pulse returned.

The patient made a full recovery and attended the presentation to thank the responders who saved his life. Township supervisors, community members, and department leaders took part in the ceremony, acknowledging the teamwork and rapid response that led to a positive outcome. KVFD expressed gratitude to the Board of Supervisors and residents for their support of all public-safety agencies serving the township.

Honorees:

KVFD: Supervisor William Dill, EMT Ashley Hrybenko, EMT Colin Panchelli, EMT Mitchell Russum
