November 12, 2025, 8:17 p.m. — Shortly after concluding a public meeting regarding the department’s proposed purchase of a new engine tanker, the Birdsboro-Union Fire Department was dispatched to the 400 block of East Baumstown Road for a reported house fire.

With Tanker 19 from Earl Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 already at Station 7 attending the meeting, Engine 7 added the unit to the assignment immediately. Engine 7, Tanker 19, and Quint 6 from Monarch Fire Company arrived on scene at the same time and quickly went into operation.

Engine 7’s crew deployed two handlines and began an aggressive interior fire attack. The crew from Quint 6 split their responsibilities, sending personnel to the roof for ventilation while others assisted with suppression efforts inside the structure. Tanker 19 secured a hydrant water supply along the roadway to support Engine 7’s operations.

Crews remained on scene for approximately two and a half hours before being released by command.
