COCALICO, PA — November 2, 2025 — As residents changed their clocks for the end of daylight saving time, the Cocalico Area Fire Department issued an important safety reminder: check smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors to ensure they are functioning properly.

The department emphasized that replacing batteries, testing alarms, and confirming device expiration dates are simple steps that can significantly improve home safety.

Fire officials encouraged all households to take a few moments during the clock change to verify that their detectors were in good working order.
