Myerstown, Pa. — October 22 — Box 35-02 was sent to the 200 block of Church Street in Schaeffer town, where Keystone Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 responded to a business fire. With complete crews, Engine 31, Tower 31, and Wagon 31 responded. Personnel from the engine and tower helped nearby businesses with synchronized ventilation within the building, main searches and fire suppression.

The rapid containment of the fire stopped it from spreading across the commercial property. Before being released by command, Wagon 31 set up a fill site on Sinclair Road and provided three tankers. To keep township coverage throughout the crisis, more staff stayed at Station 31.
