November 3, 2025 — This week, the Cranford Fire Department is joining communities across the country in taking part in Operation Green Light, a national initiative created to recognize and support the nation’s veterans.

As part of the campaign, the department is shining a green light to symbolize gratitude for the service, sacrifice, and courage of the men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces. The gesture serves as a visible reminder that veterans are valued and appreciated within the Cranford community.

The department is encouraging residents and local businesses to participate by lighting their homes, storefronts, or properties green throughout the week. Even a single green bulb, the department noted, is a meaningful way to show veterans that their contributions have not been forgotten.

“To all who have worn the uniform: we honor you, and we thank you,” the department said in its announcement.
