Port Royal, Pa. — October 17 — On Friday night, Friendship Fire Company No. 1 responded to a car fire in Mexico Village. When Tanker 1 and Chief 2 (J. Henry) arrived first, they verified that the engine-compartment fire was operational. With a calm and well-planned operation, the crew used one line to contain the situation. Units quickly resumed duty after no injuries were recorded.
Due to limited hydrant access, vehicle fires in rural communities like Mexico Village frequently demand prompt water delivery and clear communication. Friday's response adhered to those procedures, with personnel successfully extinguishing the fire and Tanker 1 providing an instant water supply. The business thanked the community for its ongoing support and mentioned that its Autumn Couples Night was held later in the evening.
