November 9, 2025 — On Sunday, members of the Mountainside Fire Department took part in a specialized Search and Rescue (SAR) training session conducted by the Union County Office of Emergency Management (OEM). The training was held in coordination with Mountainside Rescue Squad and focused on building critical skills for locating missing individuals in the reservation.
Throughout the session, participants received instruction and hands-on experience in search techniques, field operations, and coordinated response procedures necessary for SAR missions. The training aimed to strengthen preparedness for real-world incidents involving lost or endangered persons within wooded or remote areas.
The department expressed its appreciation to Union County OEM for providing the valuable training opportunity and for its continued dedication to supporting first responders throughout the region.
