November 1, 2025 — The Westfield Fire Department proudly recognized Battalion Chief and Emergency Medical Technician Michael Sawicki for 23 years of dedicated service to the community.

Battalion Chief Sawicki was hired on November 1, 2002, and has since become a vital member of the department’s leadership team. He is currently assigned to Tour 3, where he serves as the shift commander, overseeing daily operations, emergency response coordination, and personnel management.

Throughout his career, Chief Sawicki has been known for his professionalism, commitment to training, and steadfast leadership on and off the fireground. His decades of service reflect the department’s values of dedication, integrity, and community protection.
