November 3, 2025- Starting on Tuesday, October 28th, and continuing through the weekend of November 1st–2nd, members of the Hackettstown Fire Department participated in the Warren County Fire Academy’s Vehicle Extrication Awareness and Operations certification course. This extensive, hands-on program trained firefighters in essential skills such as vehicle stabilization, victim extrication from various types of vehicles, and techniques for lifting vehicles off trapped occupants.

The department praised the instructors for delivering an exceptional, experience-driven course, noting that the training was led by professionals who have “been there and done that” countless times in real emergencies. Hackettstown Fire also extended its thanks to Tri-County Fire Company for hosting the training at their firehouse and to Blaze Emergency Equipment for supplying the specialized tools required for the practical portion of the course.

This demanding weekend marked the third major training event for Hackettstown firefighters since October 18th—demonstrating the members’ strong commitment to readiness and community service. The department also noted that before class began on Sunday, crews responded to a working fire in Washington Borough. Originally dispatched as a FAST team, the firefighters were reassigned to work in an attached exposure and operated on scene for approximately two hours before heading directly to training.

Hackettstown Fire expressed gratitude to its dedicated members for once again giving up their weekend to train, ensuring they remain fully prepared to serve the residents of Hackettstown when emergencies arise.
