Knowlton Township Fire & Rescue Responds to Reported Vehicle Fire on I-80 West
November 2, 2025 —At 10:45 a.m., Station 41 was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle collision with fire at the 6.9-mile marker on Interstate 80 West. Initial reports indicated that a vehicle had struck a deer and was on fire.
Engine 41-63, Tanker 41-71, Atlantic EMS 15-51, and Car 41 responded to the call. Upon arrival, crews found the vehicle safely positioned on the right shoulder with no smoke or fire present. After assessing the scene, the New Jersey State Police canceled fire and EMS units.
The impact had left the remains of the deer scattered across a portion of the roadway, requiring attention to maintain safe travel conditions.
