Washington Fire Issues Gas Venting Advisory

November 3, 2025 — The Washington Fire Department, Station 83, announced that Elizabethtown Gas would be venting natural gas at various locations throughout town on November 3.
Residents were advised that they might smell gas outdoors during the venting process.
The department stressed that any odor of gas inside a home should be treated as an emergency. Residents were urged to call 911 immediately if they detected gas indoors, and to call as a precaution if they were concerned about strong odors outside their homes.
The Washington Fire Department thanked the community for its cooperation and noted that the advisory was issued to help maintain public safety.
