MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. — October 21 — This past weekend, more than 20 Mount Holly Fire Department firefighters finished a full Tractor Drawn Aerial (TDA) training program. The session began on Friday evening with an in-depth lecture and proceeded through Saturday and Sunday with hands-on drills aimed at increasing confidence and operational readiness.
Firefighters trained on the department's tiller truck at various sites, including vacant lots, the county building, and other areas around town. The simulations were designed to simulate actual emergencies, allowing personnel to practice precision maneuvering, placement, and coordination.
"Tillers are one of the most versatile apparatus in the fire service," Fire Director Jason Carty explained. "Hands-on training like this guarantees that our volunteers are confident and capable when it counts the most. The effort and attention our members showed this weekend speak volumes about their commitment to defending this neighborhood.
