Old Forge, Pa. — October 21 — Near the 180.5-mile marker on Interstate 81 northbound between the Moosic and Montage Mountain exits on Tuesday night, the Old Forge Fire Department responded to a multi-vehicle collision involving fire. When Greenwood Fire Department crews arrived, they discovered multiple automobiles engaged, one of which had an active fire. While EMS assessed individuals involved, firefighters swiftly put out the fire and examined the area for any other dangers.
While rescuers worked to protect the road and make sure there were no more hazards, traffic in the vicinity was slowed. Units vacated the area and permitted state agencies to carry out the inquiry after the vehicles were stabilised and the fire was completely put out.
