Thompsontown, Pa. — November 11 — During a recent home fire, Engine 8 from Thompsontown Volunteer Fire Company No. 8 provided water for tanker shuttles while operating at a pond-side fill site. In order to support suppression efforts on the fire ground, crews maintained a steady draft despite the scarcity of hydrants in the area. Until the overhaul was finished and every unit was put back into service, the operation went on.
