Mifflintown, Pa. — October 29 — In Fermanagh Township, Mifflintown Hose Co. #1 was called to a three-vehicle collision at Route 35 North and South Ridge Road. Two automobiles with injuries were first reported in the call, which was sent out as Box 2-01. When Chief 2 (Henry) arrived, he verified that three cars had been involved in a head-on collision, with one driver stranded.
In order for responders to reach the patient, Rescue 2 stabilized a van and used Hurst tools to finish a roof flap and remove the driver's door. After around 12 minutes, the driver was extricated and given to EMS. Another crash victim was also taken to the hospital for medical attention. Until tow vehicles cleared the area, the route remained blocked.
