Mifflintown, Pa. — October 24 — After an audible alarm went out in the residential building, the Mifflintown Hose Co. #1 responded to a morning fire alarm at North Street Manor. When Engine 2 arrived first, nothing was visible from the outside.
After conducting an investigation, interior crews determined that a cooking mishap that resulted in minor smoke was the reason. The issue was swiftly brought under control after firefighters installed a fan to ventilate the unit. Engine 2 was given the box, and no casualties were reported. To ensure that the building was empty and the alarm system reset without any problems, crews stayed on the scene for a little period of time.
