Three Residents Escape Safely as Crews Contain 1-Alarm Structure Fire

Pittsburgh, Pa. — October 24 —Pittsburgh fire crews responded overnight to the 3800 block of Windgap Avenue after several 911 callers reported a fire at a house. When firefighters arrived, they found three people who had already exited the back of the home unharmed. The fire started on the front porch and was quickly brought under control by the first-arriving companies.
Fire investigators later deemed the incident suspicious. A suspect was found in Kennedy Township and taken to Pittsburgh Police headquarters for questioning. After the investigation, Timothy Hamilton, 45, was arrested on multiple charges and taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
