LITTLE FERRY, NJ - An overnight fire destroyed a private home in Little Ferry in the early morning hours of November 12th.

At approximately 1:49 A.M., companies were dispatched to 9 Franklin St. on a reported house fire. First arriving chiefs were met with heavy fire on the second floor and attic of a two-and-a-half story home. With the fire rapidly moving, command decided to evacuate the building, forcing them to make an exterior attack. Numerous outside hand lines, along with Engine 309's deck and Hackensack's ladder pipe knocked down the heavy fire.

The fire was under control at 2:43 A.M. by orders of Chief of Dept. Steve Iurato. According to fire officials, everyone made it out safely and no injuries were reported in the blaze. Mutual aid from Hasbrouck Heights, Moonachie, South Hackensack and Hackensack assisted on the scene. Companies from Ridgefield Park and Wood-Ridge covered firehouses. The Little Ferry Bureau of Fire Prevention is investigating the cause.
