Ridgewood, N.J. — October 30 —A Platoon of the Ridgewood Professional Firefighters FMBA Local 47 spent part of the afternoon training on basic skills. They focused on getting familiar with their gear, using emergency radios, and practicing firefighter rescue techniques. This session was part of the department’s regular readiness schedule, which aims to keep firefighters comfortable with their equipment and improve essential tasks.

The firefighters reviewed how to use and place their personal protective gear and tools. They practiced radio procedures for both routine and high-priority calls. The crew also went through basic rescue movements to build confidence before tackling more challenging scenarios later in the season.
