Newbury, Sunapee, and New London Crews Team Up for Harbor Fuel Spill Response

Newbury, N.H. — October 21 —A fuel spill on the water prompted Newbury Fire Rescue to send Car 1, the Midwestern NH Hazardous Materials response truck, and a spill trailer to Sunapee Harbor on Tuesday afternoon to provide mutual aid.
To help with containment efforts, New London Fire Department crews also arrived with their boat and utility truck. While fire crews from every department applied absorbent pads and neutralizing agents to break down the fuel on the surface, the Sunapee and New London boats coordinated to deploy containment booms.
