Lockport, N.Y. — October 9 — Rapids Volunteer Fire Company hosted members of the Lamp and Light Homeschool Co-op for a First Responders’ Day event at the station on Plank Road. Firefighters welcomed families, provided apparatus tours, and shared age-appropriate fire safety lessons with the children.
The visit offered students a close look at firefighting equipment and the daily work of local first responders. Events like these help strengthen connections between the fire service and the community while promoting safety education for young learners.
