West Greenwich, RI - First responders from West Greenwich Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 and West Greenwich EMS, supported by regional mutual aid rescue companies, operated at the scene of a serious two-vehicle collision requiring heavy mechanical extrication Friday afternoon in Kent County.
Emergency units were alerted during the afternoon of Friday, October 23, 2026, for a reported multi-vehicle crash with entrapment at the intersection of Route 3 (Nooseneck Hill Road) and Robin Hollow Road in West Greenwich.
West Greenwich deployed an extensive response contingent, including Chief 201, Chief 401, Engine 21, Engine 22, and Rescue 2. Due to the extent of vehicle damage and the need for specialized patient extraction and emergency medical transport, mutual aid rescue ambulances were dispatched to the scene from the Exeter Fire-Rescue Department (Washington County) and the East Greenwich Fire Department (Kent County).
Upon arrival, fire crews established scene stabilization and deployed hydraulic rescue tools to perform extrication evolutions, freeing trapped occupants from the wreckage.
Operating personnel coordinated closely with responding paramedics to evaluate, package, and provide immediate field medical care to those involved. Responders remained on scene to manage traffic flow along Route 3 and clear mechanical hazards from the intersection.
