On October 14, 2025, members of D Shift from Merrimack Fire Rescue visited The Children’s Den as part of the department’s continued efforts to promote Fire Prevention Week.
During the visit, firefighters provided age-appropriate instruction on fire safety awareness, including what to do if a fire occurs, the importance of knowing how to call 911, and recognizing firefighters as helpers during emergencies.
Children had the opportunity to see firefighting gear and equipment up close, ask questions, and explore the fire apparatus. The goal of the visit was to familiarize young students with the role of firefighters and to reinforce early safety education.
Merrimack Fire Rescue extends its appreciation to The Children’s Den staff and students for their hospitality and enthusiasm in supporting fire safety education within the community.
