Division 2 Leads Early Morning Response to Box 7741

Cambridge, Mass. — November 4 —A hydraulic/mechanical construction lift malfunction on CambridgePark Drive prompted Engine 4, Ladder 4, and Division Chief 2 to report to Box 7741 first thing this morning. A runaway motor that was producing a lot of smoke and heat from the machinery was discovered by the crews.
Immediately after, the first companies started working together to secure the lift's fuel and air supply and stretched lines for cooling. First-due units' prompt and effective response helped stop additional damage or extension. The fourth group was on duty.
