Penobscot, Maine — October 16 — At Penobscot Community School, members of the Penobscot Volunteer Fire Department spoke to students about fire safety, specifically the safety of lithium-ion batteries on Thursday. These batteries are frequently found in commonplace devices, and firefighters talked about how important it is to charge them safely, store them properly, and know what to do if a battery starts to overheat.
