Bridgeport Fire Department Raises Over $21K for Sickle Cell Association

Bridgeport, Conn. — October 21 —In collaboration with the Bridgeport Firebirds and IAFF Local 834, the Bridgeport Fire Department gave $21,168.76 to the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America. Residents from all over the city helped raise the money during the department's most recent Boot Drive. The check was presented to Gary Smart of the SCDAA. The department noted that the milestone could not have been reached without the generosity of the community and thanked all who contributed.
