Plainfield, Conn. — October 10 —Members of the Atwood Hose Fire Company visited Shepard Hill Elementary School as part of Fire Prevention Week activities. Firefighters discussed home and school fire safety practices with students and gave them the chance to see equipment and apparatus up close.

An annual tradition the department looks forward to, the visit also included time spent in the cafeteria, where firefighters joined students for lunch. The annual program fosters positive relationships between firefighters and the youngest members of the community while supporting early fire safety education.
