Western Firefighters Complete New York State Interior Firefighting Operations Training

October 7, 2025 — The Volunteer Fire Company of Western is proud to announce that three of its members have successfully completed an additional 50 hours of advanced training through the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control, earning their certification in Interior Firefighting Operations.

This intensive course combines hands-on skills training, including live fire evolutions, with classroom instruction and testing. Completion signifies that these firefighters have demonstrated the knowledge and capabilities required to safely and effectively perform interior firefighting duties.
