WHITESBORO, October 25, 2025 — The Whitesboro Volunteer Fire Department joined the community on Saturday to help guide and ensure the safety of the Herthum Heights Community Family Halloween Parade.
Volunteer firefighters, EMTs, and Fire Police worked together to provide traffic control and safety oversight, ensuring participants could enjoy the festivities safely. The department noted that community events like these highlight how local support directly helps firefighters give back.
“This is just another way your support pays it forward,” the department shared. “We’re proud to help make these family events safe and enjoyable — and yes, our firefighters loved the treats too!”
As part of the event, Whitesboro Fire also shared Halloween costume safety tips to help families celebrate responsibly:
- Wear bright or light-colored costumes to improve visibility in low light.
- Add reflective tape, flashlights, or glow sticks to make children easier to see.
- Ensure costumes and shoes fit properly to avoid trips and falls.
- Use non-toxic makeup instead of masks to keep vision clear.
- Choose flame-resistant costumes and accessories to reduce fire risks.
The department thanked the community for its ongoing support and wished everyone a safe and happy Halloween — adding, “See you next year!”
