October 4, 2025 — At approximately 1:32 p.m. Saturday, the Willowvale Fire Company, Inc., along with the New Hartford Police Department and Edwards Ambulance, was dispatched to the intersection of Mohawk Street and Roberts Road after a caller reported hearing a loud crash.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a vehicle that had crossed the southbound lane, struck a street sign, and continued into a nearby field of loose soil and mulch. The male driver, who was the sole occupant, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated on scene by Edwards Ambulance personnel and transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
The department noted that the hole in the vehicle’s windshield was caused by the impact with the street sign. Firefighters used the incident to remind motorists that seat belts and airbags save lives, emphasizing the importance of using both every time you drive.
