October 6, 2025 — The Yorkville Fire & Hose Company joined forces with the Whitesboro Fire Department, New York Mills Fire Department, and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office on Monday to deliver fire prevention lessons at Westmoreland Road Elementary and Harts Hill Elementary Schools.

Students learned key fire safety tips, including how to respond during an emergency and the importance of practicing home escape plans. Firefighters also showcased their gear and equipment to help children understand that firefighters, even when fully suited, are there to help — not to fear.

Chief Joe Morosco and Firefighter Jacob Collea, who also participated in the educational visits, were among the team dedicated to engaging with students and promoting community safety during Fire Prevention Week.
