Fatal Residential Fire in Henrico County

Henrico County, Virginia. On November 2, 2021, at 11:27 PM; Henrico Emergency Communication Center received a fire alarm to a single-family residence. Henrico Fire units responded to the 7900 block of Tamarind Drive, off Wilkinson Road, arriving on scene at 11:33 PM. Initial information indicated a high probability of occupants inside the residence.

Fire units arrived with fire coming from the side of the residence and smoke from several windows. Fire personnel operated in a rescue mode locating two adult females within minutes. Both adults were transported to VCU Medical Center with life threatening conditions.

Henrico Fire Marshals are on scene to determine the origin and cause. Fire units are expected to be on scene overnight.

Henrico Fire reminds everyone the value of having working smoke alarms in all homes.

Two Fire Victims Update: Time of release 12:45 PM, November 3, 2021

The two fire victims from last night’s fire have passed from their injuries at VCU Medical Center. Evetis D. Duren age 85 and her daughter Belinda D. Webster age 63 were both in the home at the time of the fire.

The fire is still under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
