Dummerston, Vt. — October 24 — The Dummerston Fire Department took part in a school safety day, joined by the Windham County Sheriff’s Department, Rescue Inc., and the UMASS Memorial helicopter crew. Students learned about fire safety, emergency response, and the roles first responders play in the community. A medical helicopter landing on the school grounds provided a highlight of the day, giving students a close look at specialized equipment and operations.
