Fire Boat 5 Secured for Winter Following Seasonal Removal

Colchester, Vt. — November 3 — The Colchester Fire Department has handled several calls over the past few days, including two vehicle fires, one of which followed a motor vehicle accident. Crews also responded to South Hero to assist on a structure fire, providing a tower company and a chief officer under established mutual-aid agreements.
To conclude the day’s work, members completed the seasonal removal of Fire Boat 5. The boat was taken out of service for the winter and secured at Station 2, where it will remain until spring deployment.
