Floral Park, N.Y. — October 10 — At about 11:26 a.m., the Floral Park Fire Department was dispatched to a reported basement fire near Charles Street and Elizabeth Street. First-due crews arrived to find smoke showing from a private residence. Chief of Department Gil Luger (1200) transmitted a Signal 10, confirming a working fire.
Companies from Heavy Rescue 124, Engine 125, and Hook & Ladder 1-75 made an interior attack and quickly located the seat of the fire in the basement. Additional Floral Park engines, with help from South Floral Park FD, advanced a second line and completed searches on upper floors.
