ELMONT, NY - Just after noon on November 1st, the Elmont Fire Department was dispatched to 868 Bauer Street for a report of smoke from a private dwelling. On arrival of Engine 7010, command confirmed fire in the walls on the first floor with extension into the attic. A working fire was transmitted under the command of Chief Segovia. Crews opened walls and ceilings to access hidden fire and prevent further spread. The incident was brought under control after a coordinated interior attack and ventilation effort. No injuries were reported, and the cause remains under investigation.
